4th September 2017

Hello, I hope you have had a great summer.  I have not been in touch over the past few weeks as I have been spending some time with Lynn and also, focusing on the needs of the ministry as we move forward.

I also spent some time in Germany connecting with a potential National Pioneer as well as speaking at the International Baptist Convention ‘Connect’ conference.   This was a great opportunity to speak with leaders from a number of countries across the world and to explore possibilities of introducing The Rooftop.  I have also been in conversation with potential new pioneers in Tanzania, D.C. Congo and Myanmar and putting plans together for my next trip to the U.S. and Mexico in October.

In addition, I have been in conversation with The Rooftop National Pioneers as steps are now being taken towards the first Multi-City Encounter that will take place in numerous cities across the world at Pentecost 2018.

As part of this I have also been working on a new version of The Rooftop website which has just been launched!  This new site will link to the soon-to-be-completed online equipping hub ‘The Rooftop Academy’ which will contain a variety of materials that will equip Christians to make disciples who make disciples.

As you can see, this ministry continues to develop and has now reached a new place.  Since God gave me the vision and passion for a global movement, which is now being expressed through The Rooftop, many have aligned the ministry with me and think of it as something that I am doing.  The reality is that The Rooftop is now far bigger than me and as it continues to develop it is truly becoming a global movement.  This excites me because it means we can reach more lost people!

Whilst we are doing all that we can to avoid creating an infrastructure that is expensive and could distract from the vision, there are now a rapidly growing number of people around the world who are part of this movement.  They need funds to enable them to live and to travel across the country where they are based to deliver the ministry.  In addition there are costs attached to equipping materials and city-wide events that we are planning to deliver.  The potential impact is huge and we now urgently need an injection of funds that will enable us to move forward into the next phase of the movement and reach people across the world who are beyond the walls of the church.  New funding will enable us to:

  • Appoint and resource 10 National Pioneers during 2017.
  • Host ‘The Rooftop Multi-City Encounter’ in up to 20 cities around the world at Pentecost 2018
  • Finalise the creation of equipping materials that will be added to ‘The Rooftop Academy’.  These materials will enable our Pioneers and those that they lead to make disciples who make disciples of people who are beyond the walls of the church.
  • Visit up to 15 new countries to introduce and launch The Rooftop movement over the next 12 months.

The scale of opportunity is vast and the funds required in relation to the impact that can made be are quite small, but, for us, a huge sum of money.

To deliver the next phase of the ministry we urgently need to raise $250,000 (£200,000).

As a person who prays for me I would like to ask you to consider doing 3 things:

  1. Please will you pray for me as I embark on a 4-week focus of targeted fundraising?  I confess that this is the part of my ministry that I find most difficult.  Please pray that I will know God’s presence with me as I do this and that He will go before me and help those I connect with to be ready to respond in accordance with His will.
  2. Please consider making a one-off donation towards the funds that we urgently require.  If you are a regular giver THANKYOU but would you consider a one-off gift in addition to what you already give?  If you are not a regular giver then PLEASE would you consider making a one-off gift at this key stage in the development of this movement? You can donate by visiting the website www.therooftop.org and hitting the DONATE page.  If you click on the video clip at the top of the page you will hear me saying that we are looking for 1000 people who will make a one-off gift of $100 (£80), 100 people who will make a one-off gift of $1000 (£800), and 10 people who will make a one-off gift of $5000 (£4000). If you are able to make a donation in any of the ways suggested then please give and make it possible for us to grasp this enormous opportunity that, we pray, could result in multitudes of people across the world becoming followers of Jesus.
  3. Would you be willing to share this need with other Christians that you know who may be willing and able to help?  If so then please direct them towards www.therooftop.org

I want you to know that I so appreciate your prayers and support and don’t find it easy to make such a direct appeal for funds.  BUT – I believe that God has given us a unique opportunity to make a global impact and the passion I feel for this has brought me to the place where I know that I need to ‘Ask’.

If you have any questions or comments then please feel free to contact me on my email account dennispethers@therooftop.org

Thank you so much.

Dennis

10th July 2017

Thanks for praying for me over the past week, here is my latest Pethers Prayer Points.

  • I had a great day with the leaders of the London Baptist Association last Wednesday and we are now planning for a leader’s Rooftop Encounter, which will take place in September.  This will be a really important step towards the 10-city Rooftop Encounter in May 2018 of which London is a key part.
  • Much of my time last week was spent in online conversations with Rooftop Pioneers in the US, Kenya, Uganda and South Africa.  I was also able to meet with the UK Pioneer and  Zimbabwe pioneer in London. (Phillip Mudzidizi, the Zimbabwe pioneer) was in London on his way home following a conference in Northern Ireland.   It was very exciting to talk with the pioneers and to hear stories of what is developing in each of the countries where The Rooftop is happening.
    • In The United States there is significant  progress being made towards a Rooftop Encounter in Washington D.C.  John Whaley, The Rooftop US Pioneer was recently in D.C. and involved in a meeting with a number of senators.
    • In the African countries, great progress is being made in recruiting Ambassadors to join The Rooftop movement.
    • In the UK, significant connections are being made with church and network leaders across London.
  • Further International development continues to take place and I will be having conversations soon with leaders in countries from Africa and Latin America.

It is clear to me that as The Rooftop is now entering a stage of increased visibility and rapid growth, that the ministry is now a completely different ‘animal’ to what it was at the beginning.

We now have a growing number of National Pioneers, Coordinators and Ambassadors across the world.  We are increasing the number of countries and languages that are connecting to the movement.  The Rooftop is transitioning into a truly global movement.  Praise God!

Please pray into the following items during this week:

  • In view of the rapidly changing dynamic of the ministry I have, as mentioned over the past few months, identified that we need to raise funds to be able to deliver a global ministry.  As prayer supporters who I trust know my heart on these matters, I can share with you the frustration I sometimes feel that the amount that we are seeking to raise, which will enable us to impact thousands-upon-thousands of lives across the world, is much less than many churches will spend on improvements to their building.  Please pray for me that I will always ‘seek first His Kingdom’ and not allow the need for funds to, in any way, distract me from ‘Joining Jesus in His Mission’.
  • Please also pray for me especially throughout this week.  I have set aside the next four days as a time to pray and seek to raise funds for the ministry.  Each day I will begin with prayer and then be making contact with individuals and churches requesting their financial support towards the funds that are required.  Please join me, as you are able in praying that God will touch the hearts of those that I connect with.
  • At the weekend I will be speaking at a National Gathering of leaders with Girls’ Brigade.   GB is a national Organization that reaches out to girls and young women across the country.  GB is a strategic partner with The Rooftop in the UK and this weekend is the first big step forwards with the partnership.  Please pray that leaders will be receptive and that there will be many opportunities, in the days ahead, to engage children and young people in ‘Joining Jesus in His Mission’.
  • Please pray for Lynn during this week, and also for our oldest Son, Gregg, who will be making a trip to India as part of his work.  He will be there for 2 weeks, please pray for his safety in travel.

Thank you so much.

Dennis

5th June 2017

Thanks for praying for me over the past week.  What a week it has been!

  • I mentioned last time that as I travelled I would be continuing to talk with National Pioneers about The Rooftop 2018 Leaders Encounter in 10 cities across the world.  As I have met with them in the different countries they have been really enthusiastic and already begun to make plans for 2018.   It is clear that, once again God has gone before me and He continues to develop His ministry through The Rooftop.  The Ten-city Pentecost Encounter promises to be a huge step forward in encouraging churches to Join Jesus in His Mission as well as helping to raise the visibility of The Rooftop movement across the world.
  • Over the past week it has been a thrill an privilege to launch The Rooftop in Zimbabwe and Uganda.  The momentum is building rapidly as pastors and church leaders are connecting with the ministry.  It has also been great to spend time with the board members of The Rooftop Zimbabwe and The Rooftop Uganda.  To see their heart and passion for ministry, along with their creativity and commitment is truly humbling.
  • As well as launching The Rooftop in Uganda I was also able to engage in some direct evangelistic ministry.  Richard Tumwesigye, The Rooftop Uganda Pioneer, is engaged in a regular outreach with a large number of ladies and their children.  The ladies are prostitutes and on a regular basis, Richard and others gather the ladies and children together, provide food and drink and share the gospel with them.  I had the opportunity to preach to a large gathering of people and help them to see that ‘God demonstrates His own love for us like this.   While we were still sinners Christ died for us’.  These ladies were so grateful to hear a message that gave them hope!
  • On Sunday, I preached at Freedom Cathedral in Kampala.  Once again there was a huge response to the challenge to Join Jesus in His Mission. I then travelled to Nairobi in Kenya to be with the National Pioneer, Boniface Ojode, and to launch The Rooftop here.

Please pray into the following items during this week:

  • Please continue to pray concerning The Rooftop 10-City Pentecost Encounters in 2018.  God is opening doors for this and we need prayer for the right people and adequate resources to become available in order for us to make the most of this enormous opportunity.
  • I am now in Kenya and, on Tuesday I will begin a week of meeting with leaders in Nairobi and Mombasa. I will be traveling with The Rooftop Kenya National Pioneer, Boniface Ojode.  Please pray that God goes before us in these meetings and launch events and that He opens the doors that will enable the movement to continue to expand.
  • I will also be meeting with the board for The Rooftop Kenya, please pray that the time together provides the opportunity for us to form good friendships and for me to be able to communicate the global vision of The Rooftop to the board members clearly.  It is important that the board understands the vision if they are play an effective role in overseeing the ministry in Kenya
  • As this movement continues to expand we continue to require funds.  Please pray that God will supply what is needed.
  • Please Continue to pray for Lynn.  It appears that Gregg, our eldest son will be moving to India on 29th June.  Scott, our younger son now has a new home and will be moving out any day.  Amy, our daughter will have a new home on Friday and will be moving out soon after then.   Lynn will be left alone and I will still be in Africa!!  Please continue to pray that she will really know God’s peace and presence.

Thank you so much.

Dennis

Thanks for praying for me over the past week.  A week that has seen some enormously significant steps forward in The Rooftop movement.

  • Over the past weeks, and increasingly during my time in South Africa, I have had a growing sense that The Rooftop is at a place when many of the foundations that have been being built over the past few years should now ‘surface’ so that The Rooftop will become more visible.  I mentioned in my previous PPP that we are planning a 1000 leader Rooftop Encounter in Cape Town in 2018.  The date of this will be 20th May 2018 – Pentecost Sunday.  But it won’t only be in Cape Town!  On the same day leaders will be doing the same in Port Elizabeth South Africa.

I am now encouraging each of our national Pioneers to hold a similar event in cities in the United States (Chicago), UK (London), Australia (Hobart), Zimbabwe (Harare), Kenya (Nairobi) and Uganda (Kampala).  Thousands of leaders looking across cities across the world and asking Jesus how they can join Him in His Mission will, I believe, be a significant spiritual moment.  At the same time this will raise the profile of The Rooftop across the world.  An important step as we head towards The Rooftop 2020 vision.

  • I also had some great meetings during the week.  Chris Dikana and I met with pastors and leaders in Knysna, a city on what is known as the Garden Route.  There was real enthusiasm among the leaders to connect with The Rooftop.
  • On Friday, I spoke at a Gala Dinner in Uitenhage, near Port Elizabeth.  This is the city where Chris lives and the purpose of the event was to raise funds for The Rooftop in South Africa and especially Chris as the National Pioneer.  There was a great turn out and many expressed their willingness to partner with the ministry and provide support.
  • On Sunday, I preached at Immanuel Baptist Church in Uitenhage, the church where Chris is senior Pastor.  Once again there was a huge response to the challenge to Join Jesus in His Mission. I then travelled to Harare in Zimbabwe to be with the National Pioneer, Phillip Mudzidzi, and to launch The Rooftop here.

Please pray into the following items during this week:

  • Please pray co concerning The Rooftop Pentecost Encounters in 2018.  I sense we are in step with what the Lord wants us to do but would really appreciate prayers into this.  I would be pleased to hear any thoughts you have.  You can email me- dennispethers@therooftop.org
  • I am now in Zimbabwe and, on Monday, I will be travelling to Gweru to meet the board members of The Rooftop Zimbabwe.  Please pray that this time together provides the opportunity for us to form good friendships and for me to be able to communicate the global vision of The Rooftop to the board members clearly.  It is important that the board understands the vision if they are play an effective role in overseeing the ministry in Zimbabwe.
  • On Tuesday we will be launching The Rooftop to pastors across the city of Gweru.
  • On Wednesday we will be launching The Rooftop to pastors across the city of Harare.
  • On Thursday I travel to Kampala Uganda to be with the National Pioneer, Richard Tumwesigye, and to launch The Rooftop thereOn Friday will be meeting with the board of The Rooftop Uganda.  As with Zimbabwe, please pray that this time together provides the opportunity for us to form good friendships and for me to be able to communicate the global vision of The Rooftop to the board members clearly.
  • On Friday/Saturday we will be launching The Rooftop to pastors across the city of Kampala.
  • On Sunday I will be preaching in a church in Kampala (tbc) and then travelling to Nairobi Kenya.
  • Please continue to pray that God will release much-needed funds to enable us to continue to move forward with this ministry.
  • Please Continue to pray for Lynn.  As I mentioned in my previous PPP, over the next few weeks our eldest son, Gregg, will be moving to India for a few months with his work.  Almost at the same time Scott and Amy are both moving out of our home!  Lynn will be left alone and I will still be in Africa!!  Please continue to pray that she will really know God’s peace and presence.

Thank you so much.

Dennis

Thanks for praying for me over the past week – a week that included a great Rooftop Encounter and then travelling to South Africa.  I am sorry to be a day late in sending this update but things have been very busy!

  • The week began with a meeting with Alan Pattle, the Operations Manager for The Rooftop International, to discuss amendments to the Website as well as continue planning for The Rooftop Academy website that will be released later this year.  During this meeting we approved the design of the slightly refreshed logo for The Rooftop.  In view of the likelihood of increased media exposure in the coming months we had been encouraged to give the logo a slightly ‘fresher’ look. You will begin to see the new logo appearing on the website and in all communications in the very near future.
  • On Wednesday it was great to lead a Rooftop Encounter with church and civic leaders, including the newly elected Mayor, from the town of Brentwood in Essex.  We met on the top floor of the Brentwood Council offices and the presence of God was tangible as leaders looked across the town and asked the Lord to help them to see what He sees as He looks at Brentwood.  The time of feedback was so exciting!  Leaders talked openly about the need there is for a change in perspective if we are truly going to join Jesus in His Mission and reach people who are beyond the walls of the church.  I am looking forward to the next step!
  • On Friday, I travelled to Cape Town and yesterday had the opportunity to preach at two churches.  I started the day at Langa Baptist church, a very large church in a township on the edge of the city.  God moved powerfully as I preached on ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few’.  At the end of the gathering I encouraged all present to ‘Ask God to change their heart and give them a passion to ‘go’ to the lost beyond the walls of the church.  The time of prayer that followed was wonderful!  In the evening I preached at Mowbray Baptist Church on the theme of ‘Making Disciples who make disciples’ – a much smaller gathering but again, a great response!  I am always thrilled to see followers of Jesus who respond to the invitation to Join Jesus in His Mission.
  • On Monday God did amazing things!  Connections are now being made with hub churches who will provide help to The Rooftop across Cape Town.   We are now planning for a Leaders Rooftop gathering of 1000 leaders on Table Mountain in 2018.  I am so excited about the potential of this!

Please pray into the following items during this week:

  • Today, Tuesday I, along with Chris Dikana, the National Pioneer for The Rooftop South Africa will be meeting with leaders of 2 of the potential ‘hub churches’ for The Rooftop in Cape Town.  Please be praying for Langa Baptist Church and Gleemoor Baptist Church that the leaders will be open to the Lord’s will as we explore this together.
  • On Wednesday Chris and I will be driving across country for about 5 hours to meet with leaders in Knysna to introduce The Rooftop.  Please be praying that they will be receptive to the ministry.
  • On Thursday we head to Port Elizabeth and on Friday will meet pastors during the day.  Then, in the evening, we will be hosting a Gala Fundraising Dinner where invited guests will have the opportunity to hear about the ministry of The Rooftop in South Africa and become financial supporters.  Please be praying that God will touch the hearts of those who attend to donate the funds which are needed to make the most of the huge opportunities that are opening up.
  • On Saturday Chris and I will be meeting to make plans for a large-scale Leaders Rooftop gathering in Port Elizabeth during 2018.
  • On Sunday I will be preaching at Immanuel Baptist Church in Uitenhage and then flying to Zimbabwe to begin a series of meetings in Harare and Gweru, I will be working with The Rooftop Pioneer for Zimbabwe, Phillip Mudzidzi.
  • Please be praying that God will release much needed funds to enable us to continue to move forward with this ministry.
  • Please Continue to pray for Lynn.  Over the next few weeks our eldest son, Gregg, will be moving to India for a few months with his work.  Almost at the same time Scott and Amy are both moving out of our home!  Lynn will be left alone and I will still be in Africa!!  Please pray that she will really know God’s peace and presence.

Thank you so much.

15th May 2017

Thanks for praying for me over the past week – a week that was filled with some great meetings as well as some important filming for a new resource.

  • I began the week in Wakefield, Yorkshire (in the Northern part of England) meeting with Tony Hodges. Tony is a businessman with a huge passion for seeing kingdom transformation impacting the cities of the world.  He has enormous experience in helping to lead businesses through culture change and this skill and experience, aligned with his passion for the gospel is a unique blend!   We spent time exploring how we may collaborate, especially how we may together draw together church leaders and market place workers to seek city transformation.  We plan to draw some people together in London in June/July to take first steps to seeing how this may, under the Lord’s guidance, move forward.  I am excited at what this could mean as we continue to develop The Rooftop 2020 global vision.
  • I then met with Ruth Gilson, the Director of Girls’ Brigade Ministries to plan the development of The Rooftop collaboration with GBM.  We were able to put in place some key next-steps which will begin in July.  Again, this is an enormously exciting development, which will provide opportunities for The Rooftop to help children and young people across the UK to ‘Join Jesus in His Mission’.
  • On Wednesday I spent much of the day in filming an important link for the evangelism equipping course ‘More to Life – Engaging Through Story’ that will be the first resource added to the new Website ‘The Rooftop Academy’.  I will keep you posted on this.
  • I was also able to spend time with out designer to make some key improvements to The Rooftop website.  Please have a look at the refreshed site:  therooftop.org
  • We are also in the process of refreshing The Rooftop logo.  This will be completed very soon and incorporated in the website as well as in all other places where The Rooftop is communicated.
  • As well as all the meetings, it was great to be able to preach at my home church, Billericay Baptist Church, yesterday.  I was asked to preach on ‘Love’ from 1 Corinthians 13.  God moved powerfully!

Please pray into the following items during this week:

  • Today I am meeting with Alan Pattle, the Operations Manager for The Rooftop International.  We are putting together a project plan that will help us to be sure to achieve all of the objectives that are required as we continue towards The Rooftop 2020 vision.  Please pray for clarity!
  • On Tuesday I will be meeting with Samuel, the UK pioneer for The Rooftop.  We will be exploring ways of developing the ministry across the UK, especially in the cities of London and Birmingham.  Please pray that the Lord will guide us as we meet.
  • On Wednesday I will be leading a city-wide Rooftop Encounter with leaders from Brentwood, Essex.  As well as church leaders it is great that the Mayor and a senior councilor will also be in attendance.  Please pray that this Encounter will be a deeply significant time for this town and that God will fill the leaders with a deep passion for those who are beyond the walls of the church and a willingness to Join Jesus in His Mission.
  • I will be spending Thursday  making final preparations for my trip to Africa.  I leave on Friday – first stop Cape Town.  On Sunday I will be preaching at Langa Baptist Church.  Please pray for safe travel and then for God’s anointing as I have the opportunity to preach in what is a very significant church in the city of Cape Town.
  • Please continue to pray for Lynn, especially as I will be away from home for the next three weeks.

Thank you so much.

Dennis

8th May 2017

Thanks for praying for me over the past week – a week that was filled with a lot of writing and preparation for my upcoming visit to Africa where we will be officially launching The Rooftop in three countries.

  • I am really pleased to be able to say that I have now completed all of the writing for the resource ‘More to Life – Engaging Through Story’.  This resource, which equips Christians to share their faith using the story of what God IS DOING in their lives was published by Lifeway but is now being fully adapted as a downloadable resource from the soon-to-be-launched The Rooftop Academy Website.  Now, all that needs to be done, is for the leaders manual and personal journal to be designed and some editorial work on the video to be completed and all will be ready – ON SCHEDULE!!
  • I was also really pleased to complete another 4 broadcasts for The Rooftop Moment teaching slot for Transworld Radio.  These can be listened to on twr360.org and type in The Rooftop moment.
  • On Saturday I enjoyed teaching at the ‘Go School’ an evangelism equipping course that is directed and overseen by the UK Pioneer for The Rooftop, Samuel Braga Tavares.  The highlight for me was getting to know a young man who has recently come to faith in Christ and who is passionate to share his faith.  He told me that ‘He wants his life to be ‘A PowerPoint  presentation’ for Jesus’ – awesome!
  • Yesterday, it was a thrill to preach at Sawyers church in Brentwood, not far from where I live.  I was speaking as part of a month of ‘Inspirational Messages’ which the church has planned to help them to hear and be inspired by God.  The response to the challenge to Join Jesus in His Mission was profound and God’s presence was manifest.

Please pray into the following items during this week:

  • Today I am travelling to Wakefield, Yorkshire to meet with Tony.  Tony is a leading businessman with a real heart and passion for seeing city transformation through the power of the gospel.  Tony and I met in New York City and are keen to explore ways that we can collaborate to bring about city-wide transformation in cities across the world.  This is a key emphasis of The Rooftop 2020 vision and I am excited to see what the Lord will do as we meet. I will also be speaking to a group of business and church leaders that Tony has drawn together in the evening.    Please pray that God helps us to see how/whether we should be collaborating in the days ahead.
  • On Tuesday morning I will be meeting with Ruth Gilson, the National Director of Girls’ Brigade Ministries.  We will be discussing ways of developing a collaboration between Girls’ Brigade ministries and The Rooftop which could lead to a nation-wide children led expression of The Rooftop.  Please pray that we have a clear sense of the Lord’s direction as we meet.
  • On Wednesday I will be filming a short piece to be added to ‘More To Life Engaging Through Story’.  Once this has been filmed the resource will be almost ready!  In the afternoon I will be with Samuel, The Rooftop UK Pioneer.
  • I will be spending Thursday with Alan Pattle, the International Operations Manager – we have a very long action list!!  Please pray that we make real progress.
  • Friday is a day off!!  I am going to see the mighty Everton FC in their final home game of this Premier League season.
  • On Sunday I will be preaching at my home church, Billericay Baptist Church.  Please pray that God speaks powerfully and that people’s ears and hearts are open to His voice.
  • Please continue to pray for Lynn, especially that she will see some light appearing through the dark cloud that she frequently feels is around her.

Thank you so much.

Dennis

1st May 2017

Thanks for praying for me over the past week – a week that was filled with some really valuable meetings, some live and some online!

  • As always, it was a thrill to have online meetings with The Rooftop National Pioneers in Africa.  Real progress is being made:
    • Richard Tumwesigye, our pioneer in Uganda is making enormous progress in creating a board and incorporating the ministry in Uganda.  He has also been working really hard to get pastors together for my upcoming visit and the official launch of The Rooftop Uganda in early June.
    • Phillip Mudzidzi, our pioneer in Zimbabwe is also making great progress and he too has been drawing together a board and incorporating the ministry in Zimbabwe.  Plans are well underway for launching The Rooftop Zimbabwe with pastors in Harare and Gweru during my visit in late May.
    • Chris Dikana, our pioneer in South Africa has been putting together a launch itinerary for Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and East London for my visit later this month.  As well as launching The Rooftop in new cities in South Africa I will be speaking at two fundraising events aimed at raising funds for The Rooftop in South Africa.
  • It was also very exciting to have an online meeting with Mark Carman from Virginia Beach.  Mark has very kindly volunteered to be the Publicist for The Rooftop International.  He will be helping us enormously by opening doors into a variety of Christian broadcasting networks as well as developing a global social-media strategy.  Our online meeting was so helpful as we began to explore the next steps in developing this strategy.
  • As well as the online meetings I, along with our UK Pioneer, Samuel, had a really great meeting with David Shosanya, the Missions Director for the London Baptist Association.  This has led to some great possibilities for closer partnership across London as we head towards The Rooftop 2020 vision.
  • At the end of the week it was good to meet with Stephen Gaukroger, the chairman of The Rooftop International Council.  Stephen and I spent time discussing strategic steps towards developing The Rooftop in three language zones ‘English, Espanol and Francais” – exciting times.

Please pray into the following items during this week:

  • Tuesday morning I, along with Alan Pattle, The Rooftop International Operations Manager, will be meeting Peter Turner who is working on the video content for ‘Engaging Through Story’  an online equipping resource that will be part of The Rooftop Academy online resourcing hub.  Please pray that we have a creative and productive meeting.
  • Tuesday afternoon, I will be meeting with Samuel Braga Tavares, the UK Pioneer.  A key part of our meeting will be creating a strategy for developing The Rooftop across London and Birmingham.
  • On  Wednesday, I will be spend the day recording 8 teaching sessions for ‘The Rooftop Moment’ broadcast for Trans World Radio.  twr.org
  • Thursday and Friday will be spent in writing and then on Saturday I will be teaching at the ‘Go School’ in London and, on Sunday, preaching at Sawyers Church in Brentwood UK.  Please pray that God speaks powerfully through me over this weekend.
  • Please continue to pray for the funding needs of the ministry. Please pray that those who are currently considering how they may provide funds will hear God and be obedient to what He says.
  • Please continue to pray for Lynn.

Thank you so much.

Dennis

20th March 2017

Thanks for praying for me over the past week. It has been a week where God has opened so many new doors for The Rooftop!
• The week began with the filming of The Rooftop teaching clips in Spanish. Josue Castro, who delivered the teaching, did a great job and we made really good progress. Once the filming is completed we will have The Rooftop Espanyol and this opens the door to the huge Hispanic population in the US as well as across Latin America!
• On Tuesday I, along with Josue, traveled to Mexicali, Mexico to meet with a group of pastors and to present The Rooftop Espanyol. The response was really positive and it may even be that the Lord has led us to a pioneer for Mexico. The way that God clearly goes before me is always both remarkable and humbling.
• On Wednesday I traveled to LA and met with leaders over two days regarding a potential LA City-Wide Rooftop in 2018. Once again the response was really positive and a number of Associations and churches are keen to move forward. Interestingly, there was huge interest from a number of key Hispanic leaders as well!
• I then travelled to Hermitage Tennessee to begin a four-day Rooftop conference with New Hope Baptist Church. We began yesterday and God moved powerfully during the Morning gathering and then later at a leaders event.

Please pray into the following items during this week:
• I will be following up with the leaders that I have met with over the past week. Please pray that there will be a deepening of their commitment to partnering with The Rooftop.
• For today, Monday, I will be speaking to a group of around 80 men from New Hope Baptist Church. Please pray that God will use what I say to equip them to become disciples who make disciples.
• On Tuesday I will be speaking to the leaders of children’s and young people’s ministry at New Hope and then on Wednesday to the whole church. Please pray that all who attend will receive God’s vision and passion for the lost and then be willing to make disciples who make disciples.
• On Thursday I travel to Irving, Texas to begin a weekend where I will be speaking at an evangelistic event ‘Food for thought’ with Oak View Baptist Church. This is a non-churchy event to which Christians invite their friends to eat some food and listen as I share the story of how I came to know Jesus. Please pray that many who don’t know Jesus will be invited, attend and come to know Jesus.
• On Sunday I will be preaching both gatherings at Oak View. Please pray that God speaks powerfully.
• Please also continue to pray for Lynn. Last weekend was her birthday and this weekend coming is Mother’s day. It is so difficult to be apart on these special days and this will be the first Mother’s day since her mum passed away. Please pray for her!

Thank you so much.
Dennis

27th March 2017

Thanks for praying for me over the past week. It has been a week where God has worked powerfully in the live of many people!

• The first part of the week was spent with New Hope Baptist Church in Mt Juliet Tennessee. I spoke to groups of men, leaders of groups for children and young people and then, finally, to a gathering on Wednesday evening. The attendance at each of these meetings was really high and the way that God clearly envisioned and challenged all who came was so encouraging. It was great to see men locked arm in arm at the end of their meeting, pledging to stand together to make a difference for Jesus as they support one another and ‘have each other’s backs’. The creativity and sense of purpose that came from those at the youth and children’s leaders gathering was inspiring and the conclusion of the time together on Wednesday, as those that gathered sought God’s heart for the lost as they kneeled before Him was awesome. Praise God!
• From Tennessee I travelled to Irving Texas. The journey was interesting and a first for me – two fights on the same day that were affected by mechanical failure! The first was cancelled so I was diverted through Charlotte and then the next flight was delayed by 3 hours!
• The weekend in Irving was, once again, an exciting time as God worked in many lives. On the Saturday evening I spoke at an evangelistic event ‘Food for Thought’. Christians from the church had invited their friends and one young man gave His life to Jesus. I spoke with others who had invited friends and was pleased to hear that they had been challenged by the message and were thinking more deeply about faith in Jesus. The Sunday was a great time with a huge response at both churches to the challenge to ‘Join Jesus in His Mission’.
• Also, once again, God opened doors in Dallas as I met with the Dallas Baptist Association taking first steps towards a possible Dallas-wide Rooftop Encounter in 2018. God also opened more new doors into the Hispanic churches across Dallas.

Please pray into the following items during this week:

• Over past few months I have been asking you to pray that God will provide the funds that we need to establish The Rooftop in 8 countries and enable me to travel to others with a view to the ministry being in 12 countries by the end of 2017. The required sum is $100,000. Over the past week God has connected me with a small number of people who have significant resources and who are seriously considering a major investment into this ministry. Please pray that each of these people will be attentive to what the Lord asks them to do and that they will do His will.
• Please continue to pray for The Rooftop in Spanish. Doors are continuing to open for this ministry and the possibilities are enormous for the Kingdom. Pray that the filming of the teaching sessions will be finished on time and that all will go smoothly as we create ‘The Rooftop Espanyol’ set of resources and web site.
• Please pray for me this week as I head to North Carolina. I will be spending some time with the US National Pioneer, John Whaley, and making plans for taking next steps toward city-wide Rooftop Encounters across Dallas, LA and Phoenix. We also have our International Council Meeting on Saturday. This is an enormously strategic meeting and we need God’s wisdom as we look to the future. Please be praying for this! On Sunday I will be preaching at ‘New Life Authentic Christian Community in Concover NC’ This is the home church for John and Susan Whaley.
• Then – Lynn is coming out to the US and we will be having 5 days together. I will be turning off my phone and not sending emails so my next PPP will be 2 weeks from now. Please pray that Lynn and I have a good time being together from 3-8th April.

Thank you so much.
Dennis
